V.I.P Jiu 8 Baijiu – Chinese Liquor Reviews

V.I.P Jiu 8 Baijiu - Chinese Liquor Reviews

Baijiu Brand Name: V.I.P Jiu 8

Aroma: Imperial Aroma Baijiu

ABV: 58%

Tasting Notes: My initial reaction to the aroma was that it was surprisingly fresh – quite minty with a spicy, almost ‘green’ quality. The flavours are complex. Lots of spice and a nice, warming vein. The alcohol is clean though, unlike the other baijui brands I have tried.

Description: The V.I.P Jiu 8 recipe was first conceived 300 years ago by the Kangxi emperor, one of China’s greatest ever emperors. V.I.P Jiu 8 consists of nine natural ingredients and nothing more. During all phases of the recipes, resurrection V.I.P Jiu 8 remained true to the Emporer Kangxi’s original recipe, and forever mindful and respectful of its imperial pedigree. 1. V.I.P Jiu 8 My initial reaction to the aroma was that it was surprisingly fresh – quite minty with notes of eucalyptus and fennel. The flavours are layered and complex, built on a foundation of warming spices. The alcohol is clean though, unlike other baijui brands I have tried which tend to lead to heartburn and headaches.Reply
  2. V.I.P Jiu 8 It’s quite herbal and soft on the nose has dill allspice and lavender notes. Doesn’t really jump at you. Taste is again quite mild and soft. Herbal sweetness, cardamom note, allspice, not really sweet in taste. Quinine Notes are also present but not overwhelming. Finish has a lingering spicy burn, again spices. It is good baijiu but I’m just wondering and exploring what I’m tasting in the bottle. A very nerdy spirit that has a lot of hidden layers and doors.Reply
  3. V.I.P Jiu 8 Just thought I'd mention that I received it this morning and really enjoyed it. It has a lovely taste and nice hui gan (回甘) (returning sweetness) that lasts forever. Thanks, JoeReply
  4. VIP JIU 8 REVIEW A complex baijiu with too many after tastes to pinpoint. A sweet mouth feel with herbal hints. Can I taste chinese dates? Cinnamon? There is no harshness in the throat, its obvious only the heart has been used. The alcohol content is high but you would not know it if you did not know. Its different in a good way, refreshing. I have given it a four as I am pretty new to baijiu and have only tried a few before this to act as a comparison.Reply
